Details:
- Date: May 22, 2010
- Time: 8:00 AM
- Location: Harding Lake, Alaska (Google map)
- Cost: $30 / person ($10 of which is non-refundable)
Rules:
- Drive your own vehicle or carpool with a friend.
- Bring your own camera / laptop gear.
- Bring your camera manual if you don’t know how to use your camera.
Gear to bring:
- Camera. A dSLR is preferred but you could limp by on a point-n-shoot, although you won’t be able to accomplish as much.
- Lenses/Flashes.
- Tripod.
- Laptop.
- Proper clothes. We’ll be exploring the area so waterproof boots/shoes would be a bonus. It can be cool on the lake so a light jacket wouldn’t hurt either.
We’ll spend the first half of the day shooting (8-noon) with a break for lunch and then the afternoon (1pm-5pm) will be spent finishing photos in the digital darkroom.
Several of the techniques we’ll be sharing are:
- how to frame your subject
- how and why to shoot with filters
- how to use depth of field to your advantage
- how to get a new and different perspective on a subject
For our digital darkroom we’ll be using Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom 2, Gimp, Autostitch (for panos), Photomatix (for HDRs) so if you have a laptop with software feel free to bring it along to walk through it with us.
We only have room for 6 participants, so if you plan to attend please RSVP to jason@jasonweed.com.
