Alaska Photo Workshops are for individuals who wish to push their photography skills further. If you’re interested in taking a better photograph this is the place for you.
The two main points covered at APW are: in camera settings to achieve your desired results and finishing your photo in the digital darkroom.
Have you ever had this conversation:
Grandma: “That’s nice Tippy Joe, you sure have a nice camera to take pictures with.”
But wish it went more like this:
Grandma: “Tippy Lou, that’s beautiful!! Can I get that to hang on my wall? I’ll even pay for it!”
Whether you’re a Tippy Joe or Tippy Lou, we invite you to come and learn with us.
APW will:
- provide you with the time to ask questions about digital photography
- provide time to photograph the surroundings (while still asking questions!)
- provide a demonstration of what can be done in the digital darkroom
- still have questions? bring ‘em on!
Topics covered at APW:
- understanding light quality
- camera settings (Color Spaces, RAW vs. JPG, White Balance, etc)
- equipment basics (graduated neutral density filter, polarizer, sensor sizes, etc),
- exposure (highlights, shadows, etc.),
- reflectors and diffusers
- basics of bringing drama to your images (Hi Key, Low Key, DOF, Light and Shadows, etc)
- high dynamic range (HDR)
